I'll be updating my blog's layout very soon when I got the time to do the design. (It will be simply white and black though!hahas =p)

hmmm.. so lets see, today's quite an interesting day, I finally bought a new comp with a decent spec. Have to thank gw for accompanying me today, as well as helping me in choosing the comp to buy. (i was damn indecisive la~~ @.@ hehs).

Anywyaw, the new comp hasnt been set up, I suppose I'll try to set it up first thing in the morning tomorrow. Gotta reinstall all my progs again! =/ hahs, but since its a new comp, i'm gonna treat it better by installing some more additional programmes that i never used to install. :P (photoshop? yeh!)

Oya, just now I took awhile to do the APEL 3 thingy, here goes! :D

APEL 3: Value Reflection

"I began having an interest in IT (specifically web design) way back in the past while I was still a 12 year old kid studying in primary school. Eventually, pursuing knowledge about web design and development became more like a hobby for me, and I learned about them on my own by viewing the source codes of various websites and try them out. Now that I think of it, it wasn’t an easy task for me since I didn’t have any support or any teacher in that sense, my friends were also not very interested in IT or web design either, everything was just driven by my own will and interest.

Over the years, my interest for web development grew even stronger day by day, I’m proud to say that I’m able to produce presentable web designs for others, not excellent designs that I can say are the best ones around, but still good enough to make it for a freelance job.

Last year, I successfully graduated from secondary school and barely made it into Diploma of IT in Temasek Poly. Although it’s a little pity that I couldn’t get in my favourite Diploma of Internet and Multimedia Development, Diploma of IT has expanded my knowledge into other areas of IT. Since the school has started 14 months ago, I must say I have really learnt quite a lot in this course. I don’t really regret taking up this course, but I’m quite sure that I would have done much better academically if I were in the other course instead, even though maybe I would have learnt less. Nevertheless, I’m still happy with Diploma in IT and most of the subjects in my course are still within my interest, even though I felt maybe they should give us more options to choose what we really want to learn. (Perhaps maybe allowing us to pick a few additional IT-related subjects every semester, subjects such as 3d modeling, game design, computer graphics etc.)

Today, my interest in IT is still top tier, you’ll still easily find me actively learning more into IT-related stuff such as web design and development very often.

I even have plans for the future; in time to come, I’m going to create my very own digital portfolio for all my quality works, and set up an online community as well as an online IT company that provides web hosting, web design and computer repairing services. For this plan, I have already bought a domain name from a friend a few months ago and have started working on it a little, but I’m going to give it a remake after more planning so right now I’m leaving it abandoned.

Recently, I have been reading up quite a bit on marketing domain names, as a matter of fact, I now know about the existence of registrars and that domain names can be bought directly from registrars for a much cheaper cost, compared to buying from a reseller like my friend, and by registering directly from the registrar, the domain name will be registered directly under your name rather than the reseller’s company name. I learnt my mistake. In the future, I’ll buy several more domain names from the registrar directly.

Through my journey of pursuing more knowledge, I have met friends with similar interests, inspired some of my secondary school friends to join me in my plan, and definitely learnt to cooperate with others and persevere through hardships. I’m sure that my ambition of setting up the online community and the business will work out one day, somehow.

Signing off, CY~ "
